This presentation was given at Advanced Automotive Battery Europe 2011, in the framework of ECCAP Symposium - Large EC Capacitor Technology and Application symposium.
As shown in our experiments and computer simulations, low inner resistance of UC devices plays a key role in many applications, in particular, in automotive ones, wherein various series or parallel combinations of UC’s with batteries can effectively be used. Optimal market niches for high-power UC’s can be applications, where power profile has pulses with the duration of up to 10 seconds. Results of comparative testing of various UC devices, which were carried out in the Institute of Transportation Studies (UC Davis, USA) recently, clearly demonstrate that YUNASKO UC’s provide the lowest inner resistance and highest power density as compared with any competing devices. This, in its turn, also implies mass and cost reduction (for detail see our presentation at AABC, Mainz, June 6-10, 2011).
